Norman Merten

Norman Merten is an LA based guitarist in the rock, alternative, soul and R&B genre. He loves to experiment with different tones, grooves, textures and often will mix different styles from blues, jazz, soul and reggae all the way to the heaviest rock.

Norman is at home backing up different vocalists or instrumentalists as well as composing. Whether it's an original project or covers he enjoys adding something fresh and vibey to the sound of the band along with his roll as a sideman. He also spends time on his own original instrumental projects when he's not busy helping out other bands.

 As a guitarist Norm has performed and/or recorded with many artists in a wide variety of styles including Vanessa Williams, Howard Hewett, Jay Leno and the Tonight Show, The Arsenio Hall Show, Louie Cruz Beltran, Miki Howard, The Boys, Alice Cooper, Don Felder (Eagles), Rudy Gatlin (Gatlin Brothers), Robbie Krieger (The Doors),  Jesse J, Phillip Bailey, Warren G, Keb Mo and The Bernie Mac Show along with many others through the years. He also has composed and performed music cues for MTV’s The Real World, the Disney Channel and ABC’s Starting Over among others. 

He is currently playing out live and works with various recording projects as they come up.
